At Brandon Thatchers, our years spent working in traditional country crafts and with natural materials have earned us a reputation for creating and sourcing the most authentic scenery and props.

Our love of natural and organic materials combined with ancient craftsmanship has seen us working on many iconic and high profile projects over the years, and our knowledgeable team can help breathe life into your designs with their creative advice and tips.

In our specialist workshop we offer thatching, carpentry, weaving, metal and leather work, and also fabrication and paint facilities. Here our talented craftsmen use their artisan skills to take your design ideas from concept to reality, using natural and organic materials with imagination and flair.

Supply

We hold the UK's largest range of thatching materials including thatched tiles, rolls and bundles. Ideal for DIY thatched projects at home, gazebo thatch tile replacement and venue theming.

Over time we have cultivated an abundant stock of dried flowers, seeds, pods, sedges and cereals, as well as artificial flowers, berries and vines that are perfect for dressing any natural feature. We also have a huge selection of new and vintage barrels, baskets and bowls that will add the finishing detail to any scene.

Between our own delivery fleet and our courier and pallet partners we're able to offer same day, next day, budget and worldwide delivery options.

Bespoke Builds & Installation

Organic materials are unique in nature and working with their uneven shapes and textures can be difficult. Our work is very hands-on and over the years our installation team have found solutions to every fixing challenge imaginable, meaning we can anticipate and avoid any pitfalls on your project.

Through a combination of flexibility and ingenuity we can usually find a way to build most things within your deadline and budget. No two projects are the same and our approach is to add inventiveness and imagination to the practical requirements of a project to create something spectacular.

We've worked in some really challenging environments including listed buildings, SSSI sites, UXB firing ranges and ballrooms. Our workforce is licenced for MEWPS, including cherry pickers, spider lifts, forklifts and telehandlers. We can provide RAMS for all projects, fire retardancy including certification, phytosanitary certificates where applicable and material tracking certification.

Props made, rented and sourced

We specialise in making willow and wattle props and we have a plethora of baskets, barrels, pots, stooks, tools and sleighs available to buy or rent with overnight delivery, pickup and installation if needed.

Our workshop has crafted many different props, from hot air balloon baskets and fish traps, to cages, bomb baskets, hay ricks, spears and bows. We've supplied and built many large scale items too including historical huts, weathered cottages, hovels and pubs, alongside more modern concession stands and exhibition pieces, some of which can even be made flat pack for easy on-site installation.

We have a wide network of suppliers around the world so can easily source more unusual props too. If you have reference image or even just an idea in your mind then we can do the rest!
